Two languages, twice the challenges

French grids are not a translation: different words, different groups, different traps. It is a second playground.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Arkadix: the games, XP, streaks and leaderboards.

What are the games, and how do you play them?

Arkadix has 7 games, playable in every universe. Each one has its own mechanic, but they all share the same rule: you get a limited number of tries, and every try gives you clues for the next one.

Motix

Guess the word by playing other words.

Guessix

Guess the entity from its attributes.

Groupix

Find the 4 groups of items that share a common thread.

Lettrix

Guess the word one letter at a time.

Ordrix

Put the items in the right order based on the given criterion.

Shadix

Identify the entity hidden behind the image.

Definix

Identify the entity you're looking for from its definitions.

Every game gives you 6 tries. Once they are gone the game is lost: in Daily challenge it is over for the day, in Arcade you can start another one right away.

What is the difference between the Daily challenge and Arcade?

The Daily challenge is the same for every player in a given universe and language, once a day, per game and per universe. It is what feeds your streaks, and it awards the most XP.

Arcade can be played as often as you like. Those games do not count towards your streaks, award less XP, and you can apply filters to choose what shows up.

The game day does not roll over at your local midnight: it switches at the same time for everyone. Your daily counters (first win, Arcade tiers, the "Full universe" bonus) follow that day.

How do you unlock universes?

There is nothing to unlock: every open universe is playable right away. Progress happens inside a universe, by climbing its levels.

Careful: your progress is counted per universe and per language. Playing the same universe in French then in English creates two separate progressions.

Do you need an account to play?

The Daily challenge can be played without an account; Arcade needs one. When you create your account, the challenges you finished today are attached to it along with their XP. Earlier days cannot be recovered.

An account keeps your streaks, achievements, rankings and customisation across devices.

What is XP (experience) and how do I earn it?

You earn XP (experience) by playing the games each universe offers. The XP you gather in a universe lets you level up in it.
Each level you reach in a universe unlocks a title specific to that universe.

XP rates per mode

The Daily challenge mode is your main XP source: it earns XP quickly. The Arcade mode is your secondary XP source: a "fun" mode that is lightly rewarded.

ModeWinLoss
Daily challenge +1000 +100
Arcade +100 +0

Every day, in every universe, your first Daily challenge win is multiplied by ×5: +5000 XP instead of +1000. The next daily challenges of the same universe pay the normal scale (and a loss is never multiplied).

Two bonuses reward the Daily challenges of one universe, counted within the same game day, each once per universe per day.
A loss counts just as much as a win: what matters is finishing the challenge. From your first guess, the game counts: if you do not finish it, it is recorded as a loss when the day rolls over. Opening a game without making a single guess, however, leaves no trace.
Conclude 3 Daily challenges and earn the Daily bonus: +1500 XP. That universe then counts as complete for the day in your stats.
Conclude every game of the universe and earn Universe cleared: +3000 XP. If the universe has 3 games or fewer, both bonuses land at once and stack.

The order of the calculation matters: we start from the base gain, apply the first-win multiplier, add the universe bonuses, then the subscription bonus (and any running XP boost) applies last, to the total. In other words it also multiplies the Daily bonus and Universe cleared: with the subscription, a Daily bonus worth +1500 XP pays +1800 XP.

Arcade degressive XP curve

Each Arcade mode of a universe (e.g. Definix on General) has its own win counter for the day. XP follows tiers: early wins pay the most, then the reward drops, down to a minimum floor.
On the end-of-game modal you see « Win · tier Y » so you can place your gain.
Vary the games you play in Arcade to maximise your XP gains.

Daily wins
Tier 1 2 3 4
Win # 1 → 5 6 → 10 11 → 15 16 and up
XP per win +100 +70 +40 +10

Universe progression (levels)

A universe's progression runs through Levels: you start at level 1, then the XP you earn lets you level up.
The higher you climb, the slower the progression. There are 20 "normal" levels, then past that come the Prestiges: 5 tiers that mark your commitment to the universe.

LevelTotal XP (per universe)
Level 10
Level 591,553
Level 10554,170
Level 151,530,651
Level 203,117,704

Prestige 24,459,546
Prestige 35,368,566

How do streaks work?

A streak counts your consecutive Daily challenge wins. It is specific to each game, each universe and each language: Motix on Pokémon in French and Motix on Pokémon in English are two different streaks.

A streak breaks in three cases: you lose the Daily challenge, you do not play at all that day, or you start a game without finishing it: when the day rolls over, it is recorded as a loss.

If you have not played for more than 1 day, your streak shows as zero and starts over on your next game. With the subscription, the missed day insurance covers those days and your streak stays intact.

Arcade has its own win runs, but they only count towards achievements: neither a joker nor the insurance can save them.

What are jokers and the insurance for?

A joker makes up for a Daily challenge you have just lost: apply it before the game day rolls over, and your streak carries on as if nothing happened. After that, the day is lost for good.

You get 5 a month with the subscription, and you can buy them in packs of 3, 10 and 25. They stack and never expire.

The missed day insurance comes with the subscription. If you forget to play one day, it covers that day automatically, without using anything up. It protects streaks that are already running: a streak back down to zero does not restart.

The difference: a joker makes up for a loss and is spent; the insurance covers an absence and triggers on its own.

Achievements, titles and customisation

Achievements reward your progress, your consistency and your performances. Some are secret: they only show up once you have earned them.

Every universe has its own titles, one per level and per prestige. You can pin 1 on your profile, or 3 with the subscription.

Your avatar is built layer by layer. Pieces unlock with your level, your prestige or your achievements; some are subscriber only.

How do leaderboards work?

Three leaderboards: Daily challenge, Arcade and XP. The first two come in a monthly and an all-time version; XP is always all-time.

The top 50 is recomputed every 2 hours: after a game, your score can take a little while to show up. Leaderboards are kept separate per language.

Early the following month, the podium (top 3, ties included) for the Daily challenge and Arcade is archived on your profile.

You can make your profile private in your settings: your name stays on the leaderboard, but your profile is no longer viewable.

What does the subscription add?

The subscription adds +20% XP on every game, 5 jokers a month, the missed day insurance, exclusive palettes and cosmetics, 3 pinned titles instead of 1, advanced statistics and no ads.

The XP amounts shown on this page are those of an account without a subscription.

You can cancel the subscription at any time from your profile: it stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.

What are the Arcade filters for?

The Game filters button, on each universe panel, opens the filters for your Arcade games: check the entity categories that can appear in your next games: say only generation 1, or just your favorite types.

Filters are per universe and only affect Arcade. The Daily challenge is never filtered: it stays the same challenge for everyone.

Two edge cases: checking everything is the same as no filter (the setting clears itself), and if a selection gets too narrow for Groupix (it needs enough entities to build its grid), the filter is still saved: only Groupix Arcade becomes unavailable, the other games stay playable. Tick one more category and it comes back.
